In the 15 years since the turn of the century we have experienced a digital revolution. It is hard to believe that it was only 2004 when Facebook was launched and yet it is now used by over 1.3 billion people, making the world more connected than it has ever been.
Traditional forms of communication are being eschewed not only by the younger generation, but also by their parents and even their grandparents as the digital world becomes pre-eminent.
Here at Sandaire we recognise that much of the financial services sector has resisted change for longer than most, but change cannot be denied for ever, and that is why we are investing significantly in our digital offering as we come up to our 20th anniversary.
Sandaire is an international investment office for wealthy families and foundations which was founded in 1996 following the sale of my family’s businesses, Provincial Insurance and Exeter Bank.
We wanted to build a new type of business, a family investment office, that could provide its clients with independent and honest investment advice, without being compromised by having its own product portfolio.
We now serve 45 families, manage in excess of £3bn and have offices in London and Singapore. We appointed Alexandra Altinger as the firm’s CEO early in 2014 and merged with Lord North Street shortly afterwards.
Our founding philosophy is to provide an unrivalled service to our clients, matched with first class investment performance. And we want to be first class communicators which is why our digital presence is crucial to the future of our business.
Much of our audience lives online and that is where we need to be if we wish to communicate with them. Today I am delighted to be launching our blog, providing a mix of investment advice, opinion, insight and news. But our digital offering is not just about us demonstrating our knowledge and our expertise, we also want to engage and entertain.
Our blog, coupled with a new invitation-only LinkedIn group, and Twitter presence, will enable us to provide our current views and insights to our clients and their advisors in a faster and more interactive medium.
