Charles is a member of the Client Relationship Management Team. Thoughtful and analytical, he brings his broad experience to bear in advising his clients and anticipating their investment-related needs. With many years of involvement in charity, he leads on our social and impact investment and takes pride in helping our clients fulfil their philanthropic objectives.
After graduating in law at Exeter University, Charles trained as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse. Following his qualification in 1987, he was recruited into its then nascent corporate finance advisory unit in 1987 and spent nine years in London and Frankfurt during which he gained experience in a wide range of advisory roles, including management buy-outs, acquisitions and disposals, valuations and restructurings. In 1997, he moved into international capital markets, where he worked as a senior equities analyst for 12 years, initially on the paper, packaging and printing sector and then from 2000 on the media sector. During this time, he was with a number of companies, including HSBC, ABN AMRO, Seymour Pierce and Teathers. Charles joined Sandaire in 2010.
Charles is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He has been a trustee of a number of grant-making charitable trusts since 1990 and was for four years a trustee of Fairbridge, a national youth charity, before its merger with The Prince’s Trust.
